I hardly dare show my face after all this time - but we are off to Tuscany on Sunday for a couple of weeks so I thought just a very few words to explain what I have been up to over the past couple of months might be good.
An awful lot of exercise, basically, of the physical nature - both in water and out of it - and all in the quest to regain a matching pair of legs and feet. (See other posts for why they don't - match that is!) Fail - so far - but I will spare you the picture. And if I haven't been out exercising at hospitals, I've been doing it at home too. Prompted by the need for general fitness, and the excuse for the OH not to go to the gym, we have bought an exercise bike. The good thing with that is that a book fits nicely on the handlebars and pedalling for 30 minutes or so is a wonderful excuse to do half an hour of reading. Good result!
I have also finished and submitted the EMA for another short OU course - probably my last for a while as when we get back I really hope to get back into some regular writing. I might even start with some more regular blog posts :-)
Then there has been preparation for this holiday. Holidays are stressful :-) But I am so looking forward to it. The plan is for my whole family, children and grandchildren, to spend 2 weeks together on a hillside in Tuscany in an old farmhouse with lots of bedrooms and a swimming pool. We will, I think, have internet access so there may be the odd tweet or update.
But first we have to get there. We are hiring a car from Pizza and I am to be driver. I've done it before without trauma. But now? Hmm. Well I have been doing masses of simulated You Tube driving on the right, and frantic Googling of maps and directions for our journeys - and would be grateful for any seconds of crossed fingers and mutterings of good luck that anyone would care to give!
And once I have created order out of chaos -
and painted the toenails on my distinctly odd feet - we will be off. See you in a few weeks!
